Hobart Women’s Shelter fundraising

Make your mark with a donation to the Hobart Women’s Shelter.

My exhibition Her X mark, featuring work made during a Salamanca Arts Centre artist in residence October 2025, has opened at Salamanca Arts Centre.

The works are inspired by stories of women transported to Cascades Female Factory in the 19th Century, including my own ancestors, and women who continue to face injustices and survive systems that oppress and harm.

50% of sales will be donated to the Hobart Women’s Shelter. Fundraising Lead Em Marriott showed me the newly designed trauma informed and safe spaces in their intake facilities and accomodation.

As someone who suffered from secondary trauma associated with poor system response and non-trauma informed practices, the entire approach and dignity of care was inspiring.

If purchasing an artwork is not your thing, visit the Hobart Women’s Shelter and see the ways you can support their good work, or women’s support services in your own community.
