I’m currently in nipaluna Hobart for a residency through Salamanca Arts Centre.
Residencies are a chance to listen, to place, to materials, and to what emerges in a new rhythm of working. During my time in nipaluna, I’ll be developing new photo media works that continue my exploration of plant based processes and the relationship between image, time, and environment.
Being on palawa Country will also be an important opportunity to connect with other artists and communities whose practices intersect with ecology, materiality, and the poetics of light.
I’ll share updates and reflections from the residency via Instagram @michelleculpitt.
